Description
In 2013, Association Exile will hold ten workshops with Roma artists in memory of Ceija Stoijka. The program comprises a short film (15 min): “Ceija Stoijka: A Roma Life” and the introduction to the general history and history of persecution of the Roma and Sinti by the host. There is then a reading from Ceija Stoijka’s life story followed by discussions and conversations.
In addition the Association Exile is holding another ten workshops with the roma.klang.theater.exil in autumn 2013 and spring 2014. Finally, the Association is planning six workshops with Ruth Weiss in autumn. Ruth Weiss, a poet, born to Jewish parents in Berlin in 1928, spent her formative years in Vienna until 1938 but then had to emigrate with her family to the USA. Ruth Weiss will spend three weeks in Vienna at the invitation of the Association Exile and will lead six Holocaust Education workshops at the Amerlinghaus for school groups.

Der Verein Exil wird 2013 zehn Workshops mit Roma-KünstlerInnen in Erinnerung an Ceija Stojka durchführen. Das Programm besteht aus einem Kurzfilm: (15 Min.): „Ceija Stojka: Ein Romaleben“ samt Einführung in die Geschichte und Verfolgungsgeschichte der Roma und Sinti durch die Moderatorin. Dann erfolgt eine Lesung aus der Lebensgeschichte von Ceija Stojka, gefolgt von Diskussion und Gesprächen. Zusätzlich veranstaltet der Verein Exil zehn weitere Workshops mit dem roma.klang.theater.exil im Herbst 2013 und Frühjahr 2014. Abschließend plant der Verein sechs Workshops mit Ruth Weiss in Herbst 2013. Ruth Weiss, eine Dichterin, geboren 1928 in Berlin als Kind jüdischer Eltern aus Wien, verbrachte die entscheidenden Jahre ihrer Kindheit bis 1938 in Wien, und musste dann mit ihrer Familie in die USA emigrieren. Ruth Weiss wird im Herbst 2013 auf Einladung des Vereins Exil drei Wochen in Wien verbringen und sechs Holocaust-Education-Workshops im Amerlinghaus für Schulklassen leiten.
