The aim of the project is the publication of a dissertation approved by the University of Vienna in 2012. It dealt with the “aryanization” of Austrian pharmacies during Nazi rule, the restitution of these operations after 1945 and the fate of the Jewish owners of Austrian chemists subjected to Nazi persecution. In its main chapter, this dissertation deals in detail with the aryanization of chemists and their operating licenses, the “dejewification” of associated properties and any restitution proceedings after 1945.

Ziel des Projekts ist die Publikation einer 2012 an der Universität Wien approbierten Dissertation. Diese behandelt die „Arisierungen“ österreichischer Apotheken während der NS-Herrschaft, die Rückstellungen dieser Betriebe nach 1945 und das Schicksal der von der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung betroffenen jüdischen EigentümerInnen österreichischer Apotheken. Diese Dissertation setzt sich in ihrem zentralen Kapitel ausführlich und detailliert mit der „Arisierung“ von Apothekenbetrieben und deren Betriebsrechten, der „Entjudung“ zugehöriger Liegenschaften sowie etwaigen Rückstellungsverfahren nach 1945 auseinander.
