Description
The aim of the planned research is to reconstruct the fates of the art dealers forced to leave Austria and of their families following their escape. On the basis of a large number of individual biographies, a collective biography will be created which goes beyond the individual and provides an overview of general developments and those specific to this field and its key figures. The results of this investigation will be made available to the public in the form of a comprehensive publication.

Ziel des hier vorgestellten Forschungsvorhabens ist es, das weitere Schicksal der vertriebenen Kunsthändlerinnen und Kunsthändler sowie jenes ihrer Familien nach der Flucht aus Österreich zu rekonstruieren. Auf Basis von umfangreichen Einzelbiografien soll eine Kollektivbiografie entstehen, die über das lndividuelle hinausgehend den Blick auf allgemeine Entwicklungen sowie die Spezifika der Branche und ihrer AkteurInnen eröffnet. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung sollen in einer umfangreicheren Publikation der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden.
