Description
The production by Andreas Kosek, who is invited to the Meridian Lyric Festival in Czernowitz in September 2013, unites striking pictures from “The Apocalypse – the world won’t exist for much longer”, “Edi Lechner is looking into paradise”, “Vineta”, “Broadway Melody 1492”. The scene “History lesson in 2035” and quotations from letters by Jura Soyfer from prison and the concentration camp and from those of his friend Heli Ultmann to him, which pointedly take to task the corporative state and the social situation of the 1930s have also been included. In this way, the production conveys a very comprehensive portrayal of Soyfer’s life and times with clear reference to his persecution by the Nazis.

Die vorliegende Inszenierung von Andreas Kosek, die im September 2013 zum Meridian Lyrik Festival nach Czernowitz eingeladen ist, vereint prägnante Bilder aus „Der Weltuntergang – Die Welt steht auf kein’ Fall mehr lang“, „Der Lechner Edi schaut ins Paradies“, „Vineta“, „Broadway Melodie 1492“. Eingearbeitet sind auch die pointiert mit dem Ständestaat und der sozialen Situation der 1930er-Jahre ins Gericht gehenden Szene „Geschichtsstunde im Jahre 2035“ sowie Briefzitate Soyfers aus Gefängnis und KZ und solche an ihn von seiner Freundin Heli Ultmann. Auf diese Weise vermittelt die Produktion ein sehr umfassendes Bild über Soyfers Leben und Zeithintergrund und wird auch die Verfolgung durch den Nationalsozialismus deutlich.
