Description
Within the scope of the International Centropa Summer Academy 2014 from 9–17 July, 65 teachers from around 15 countries (including Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, USA, Poland, Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Bosnia, Spain etc.) will attend an eight-day teachers further education seminar in Vienna and Sarajevo. Using Centropa’s materials, the teachers will propose models for how Holocaust education and Jewish-European history of the 20th century can be innovatively conveyed in class. Through networking and exchange, a model of cross-border Holocaust education will be developed. Historical / Jewish sites will be visited in Vienna (Jewish Museum, Jewish Cemetery at the Central Cemetery, the Temple in Seitenstättengasse, the Army of Military History and others) and in Sarajevo (the Jewish Community Center and the aid organization “La Benevolencija”, the Jewish cemetery).

Im Rahmen der Internationalen Centropa Sommerakademie 2014 vom 9.–17. Juli werden 65 PädagogInnen aus ca. 15 Ländern (u.a. Österreich, Deutschland, Tschechien, Ungarn, Israel, USA, Polen, Serbien, Mazedonien, Rumänien, Bosnien, Spanien etc.) acht Tage lang ein LehrerInnen-Fortbildungsseminar in Wien und Sarajevo besuchen. Die PädagogInnen werden auf Basis von Centropas Materialien Modelle entwerfen, wie Holocaust-Education und jüdisch-europäische Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts im Schulunterricht innovativ vermittelt werden kann. Durch Vernetzung und Austausch soll ein Modell grenzüberschreitender Holocaust-Vermittlung entwickelt werden. Es werden historische / jüdische Stätten in Wien (Jüdisches Museum, jüdischer Friedhof am Zentralfriedhof, den Tempel in der Seitenstettengasse, das Heeresgeschichtliche Museum, u.a.) sowie in Sarajewo (das jüdische Gemeindezentrum und die Hilfsorganisation „La Benevolencija“, den jüdischen Friedhof) besucht.
