Cantoral concert of remembrance

In 2014, the Cantoral Concert will take place in memory of the victims of the Shoah and the November pogrom. The commemoration will be an expression of grief and also provide the Jewish community and society as a whole with the opportunity to connect to old traditions, allowing these to live in the present. It gives the Jewish and non-Jewish audience the opportunity to hear the timeless melodies of the prayers and old Jewish songs from the shtetl.

Im Gedenken an die Opfer der Shoah und den Novemberpogrom wird 2014 das Kantoren-Gedenkkonzert stattfinden. Das Gedenken soll sowohl der Trauer Ausdruck verleihen als auch die heutige Wiener Jüdische Gemeinde und die Gesellschaft als Ganzes dazu ermuntern, an die alten Traditionen anzuknüpfen, um diese in der Gegenwart leben zu können. Es gibt dem jüdischen und nichtjüdischen Publikum die Möglichkeit, die zeitlosen Melodien der Gebete und auch die alten jiddischen Lieder aus dem Stetl authentisch kennenzulernen.
