The Engerau exhibition is the annual special exhibition for 2015 put on by the Museum of the Jewish community in Bratislava, established in 2012. The exhibition is held in the synagogue in Heydukova Street, the only synagogue in Bratislava, and will present this little-known chapter of Bratislava’s history to the local population for the first time. The project is being undertaken in cooperation with the “Jewish Heritage Foundation – Menorah” (Jewish Community Museum) and the Holocaust Documentation Center, the Slovakian National Archives and the Austrian Research Agency for Postwar Justice. The aim of the project is to foster communal remembrance of the Engerau Camp by the local population so that this history, the most tragic chapter of the Holocaust to take place on Bratislavan soil, will not be forgotten. Future cooperation with schools and NGOs is also planned. The exhibition will be shown at the Documentation Centre for Austrian Resistance in Vienna in 2016.

Die Engerau-Ausstellung ist die jährliche Spezialausstellung des 2012 gegründeten Museums der jüdischen Gemeinde in Bratislava für das Jahr 2015. Die Ausstellung befindet sich in der Synagoge in der Heydukova-Straße, der einzigen Synagoge Bratislavas und wird zum ersten Mal das wenig bekannte Kapitel der Geschichte von Bratislava der einheimischen Bevölkerung präsentieren. Das Projekt ist eine Kooperation der „Jewish Heritage Foundation – Menorah“ (Jewish Community Museum) mit dem Holocaust-Dokumentationszentrum, dem Slowakischen Nationalarchiv und der Österreichischen Forschungsstelle für Nachkriegsjustiz. Ziel des Projekts ist es, ein gemeinsames Gedenken der örtlichen Bevölkerung an das Engerauer Lager entstehen zu lassen, sodass diese Geschichte – das tragischste Kapitel des Holocaust auf dem Gebiet von Bratislava – nicht in Vergessenheit gerät. Eine künftige Zusammenarbeit mit Schulen und NGOs ist vorgesehen. Die Ausstellung soll im Frühling 2016 im DÖW in Wien gezeigt werden.
