Cantoral Concert

In autumn 2006, the rabbinate organized a cantoral concert in the Vienna City Synagogue. Emphasis was placed on works by composers and cantors who lived before the Shoah, many of whom were murdered in the Shoah. In addition to the cantor at the Vienna City Synagogue, chief cantor Shmuel Barzilai, the cantor Yaakov Yitzhak Rosenfeld from Israel performed with piano accompaniment well known and almost forgotten cantoral songs and Yiddish music from the Stettl.

Das Rabbinat plant für den Herbst 2006 ein Kantorenkonzert im Wiener Stadttempel, bei dem der Schwerpunkt auf Werken von Komponisten und Kantoren liegen soll, die vor der Shoah lebten und von denen viele in der Shoah ermordet wurden. Außer dem Kantor des Wiener Stadttempels, Herrn Oberkantor Shmuel Barzilai, wird auch Kantor Yaakov Yitzhak Rosenfeld aus Israel mit Klavierbegleitung bekannte, aber auch fast vergessene kantorale Gesänge und jiddische Musik aus dem 'Stejtl' zu Gehör bringen.
