The municipality’s own anniversary and the Austrian Day of Remembrance gave cause for the municipal representative of Kematen to commission a study on the significance and the role of the Municipality of Kematen in Tyrol during the Nazi era, and that of its municipal representatives and the companies operating on municipal territory. Merely portraying the events of the Nazi era would leave many questions unanswered. For this reason, the book also addresses the years prior and subsequent to this period in three extensive chapters. It also investigates the economic and social circumstances prevailing in the municipality in view of the Great Depression and austerity packages. The second chapter particularly sheds light on the years 1938–1945.

Das gemeindeeigene Jubiläum und der österreichische Gedenktag veranlassten den Gemeindevertreter von Kematen dazu, eine Studie in Auftrag zu geben, welche die Bedeutung und Rolle der Gemeinde Kematen in Tirol sowie ihrer Gemeindevertreter und ihrer einzelnen Gemeindemitglieder einschließlich der im Gemeindegebiet ansässigen Unternehmen in der NS-Zeit im Detail beleuchtet. Nur die Ereignisse der NS-Zeit darzustellen, ließe viele Fragen unbeantwortet, weshalb das Buch in drei großen Kapiteln auch die Jahre davor und danach behandelt. Zudem befasst es sich mit dem wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Verhältnissen in der Gemeinde angesichts von Weltwirtschaftskrise und Sparpaketen. Im zweiten Kapitel werden insbesondere die Jahre 1938-1945 beleuchtet.
