Description
The aim of the project is, by taking a multi-perspectival approach, to take a comprehensive look at the life and fates of those deported from Vienna to the District of Lublin, from the time of their deportation until their deaths within the scope of “Operation Reinhardt”: of approx.. 12,000 Austrian Jews, only a little over 20 survived to witness the end of Nazi rule.

Ziel des Projekts ist es mit diesem multiperspektivischen Ansatz einen umfassenden Blick auf das Leben und Schicksal der aus Wien in die Ghettos im Distrikt Lublin Deportierten zu werfen, der vom Zeitpunkt ihrer Deportation bis zu ihrem Tod im Zuge der „Aktion Reinhardt“ reicht: Von den etwa 12.000 österreichischen Jüdinnen und Juden erlebten etwas mehr als 20 das Ende der NS-Herrschaft.
