The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Centre intends to prepare guided tours on a scientific basis that are better tailored to each target group, to extend what is already on offer with further programs such as seminars and knowledge archives and to thematize – besides Judaism and the Holocaust – tolerance and interconnection between people. A permanent exhibition shall serve as the basis for the centre and as a basis for the guided tours. As both the prayer room and the congregation room cannot be compromised, the Holocaust part of the exhibition must be concealable. The exhibition is comprised of the following elements: the Holocaust, the Jewish history of Europe and Graz/Styria, Israel and diaspora, Judaism/community life, the calendar and high holidays, ritual objects, the rabbis of Graz, intercultural and transcultural communication and tolerance and the design of a park with memorials to the victims and the Righteous.

Das Holocaustgedenk- und Toleranzzentrum beabsichtigt Führungen auf wissenschaftlicher Basis zielgruppengerechter vorzubereiten, dieses Angebot durch weitere Programme wie beispielsweise Seminare und Wissenschaftsarchive zu erweitern und - neben Judentum und Holocaust - auch die Toleranz und die Vernetzung unter Menschen zu thematisieren. Als Basis des Zentrums und als Leitfaden für die Führungen sollte eine Dauerausstellung im Synagogengebäude dienen. Da sowohl der Betraum als auch der Versammlungsraum nicht beeinträchtigt werden dürfen, muss der Holocaust-Teil der Ausstellung verdeckbar sein. Teile der Ausstellung sind der Holocaust, die Jüdische Geschichte Europas und Graz – Steiermark, Israel und Diaspora, das Judentum – Gemeindeleben, Kalender und Feiertage, Ritualgegenstände, Grazer Rabbiner, Inter- und Transkulturelle Kommunikation und Toleranz sowie die Parkgestaltung mit Gedenken an Opfer und Gerechte.
