Description
The web project “Uploading_Holocaust Interactive” is aimed at students aged between 14 and 18 in a place they spend much of their time – the internet. It will convey information to them with the help of an interactive web tool. The aim is to record the way in which the Holocaust is remembered in Austria and Germany and to question the young people as to the approach that they find most up-to-date. Besides providing information the project is also expected to detect the mood and attitudes about the role of the Holocaust for the fourth generation, at school and for them personally, and about the approach that they consider the most appropriate. In order to achieve this, the strictly anonymous results will be evaluated. It is hoped that the web tool will be widely used in cooperation with schools, educational institutions, teachers and memorials. The target audience will be reached using a far-reaching media and radio campaign in Germany.

Mit dem Webprojekt „Uploading_Holocaust Interactive“ sprechen wir SchülerInnen zwischen 14 und 18 Jahren dort an, wo sie sich häufig aufhalten – im Internet. Mit Hilfe eines interaktiven Webtools soll Wissen vermittelt werden. Es soll erfasst werden, wie in Österreich und Deutschland an den Holocaust erinnert wird und die Jugendlichen befragen, welchen Umgang sie mit dem Thema selbst als zeitgemäß empfinden. Neben der Vermittlung von Wissen soll über das Projekt ein Stimmungsbild eingefangen werden, welche Rolle der Holocaust für die vierte Generation in der Schule, aber auch für sie persönlich spielt und welchen Umgang sie mit dem Thema für angemessen halten. Dazu werden die streng anonymisierten gesammelten Ergebnisse ausgewertet. Das Webtool soll einerseits in Zusammenarbeit mit Schulen, Bildungsinstitutionen, Lehrern und Gedenkstätten verbreitet werden, andererseits wird durch eine breite Medienkampagne und Radiosendern in Deutschland das Zielpublikum angesprochen.
