Description
“To the promised land – Eretz Austria” is a theatrical exploration in the Krimmler Achental valley following the trail of the Jewish Bricha of 1947, with additional scenes about today’s refugee crisis. The public will walk with the actors along the Krimmler waterfalls and, following a brief taxi ride from the Krimmler Tauernhaus to Windbachalm, along the route heading toward Italy, originally scouted out by Marko Feingold in 1947. At significant locations in the terrain, at the historical guesthouse and in a strongly-smelling cattle shed, the circumstances that had led the group of (mostly) concentration camp survivors to embark on this strenuous and treacherous journey and the hopes that they had invested in Palestine will be recreated. In addition to the “theatrical” scenes, a “historical guide” will lead the group, paying attention to the tempo and telling the stories – among others of the eyewitness Marko Feingold – to the former refugees from Israel or the USA or their descendants at significant locations.

„Ins gelobte Land! – Eretz Austria!“ ist eine theatrale Exploration im Krimmler Achental auf den Spuren der jüdischen Bricha von 1947 ergänzt um Szenen zur aktuellen Flüchtlingsproblematik. Das Publikum wandert mit den Schauspielenden entlang der Krimmler Wasserfälle und nach einem eingeschobenen Taxitransfer vom Krimmler Tauernhaus bis zur Windbachalm auf der von Hofrat Marko Feingold 1947 ausgekundschafteten Originalroute in Richtung Italien. An markanten Schauplätzen im Gelände, in der historischen Gaststube und einem geruchsintensiven Kuhstall werden die Hintergründe, welche die (großteils) KZ-Überlebenden zu dieser strapaziösen und gefährlichen Wanderung veranlassten und die Hoffnungen, die sie mit Palästina verbanden, nachempfunden. Zusätzlich zu den „theatralen“ Spielszenen leitet ein „Historischer Guide“ die Gruppe, achtet auf das Tempo und erzählt an markanten Geländepunkten – unter anderem vom Zeitzeugen Marko Feingold – den ehemaligen Flüchtlingen aus Israel oder den USA oder deren Nachkommen.
