In February 2018, the University of Vienna, together with the European Jewish Congress, New York University and the University of Tel Aviv in Vienna, is organizing an international congress on the topic "An End to Anti-Semitism! For this congress we invite not 150 scholars from all over the world to deliver lectures, but also public dignitaries and politicians. In addition to the speakers, the congress is open to a academic audience without conference fee and also includes two evening events intended for a broad public. The congress "An End to Anti-Semitism!" aims, on the one hand, to penetrate the topic of anti-Semitism in its historical, religious, philosophical, ethical, sociological, pedagogical, political, media, psychological, and legal dimensions and, on the other hand, to develop strategies to effectively combat anti-Semitism. A special focus of the conference will also be on the Shoah and the Nazi incitement of the Jews, as this remains effective in new forms of anti-Semitism far beyond the German-speaking world.

Die Universität Wien veranstaltet im Februar 2018 gemeinsam mit dem European Jewish Congress, New York University und der Universität Tel Aviv in Wien auf dem Gelände des Universitätscampus einen internationalen Kongress zum Thema „An End to Anti-Semitism!“. Für diesen Kongress laden wir nicht nur Referate von 150 Wissenschaftlern aus aller Welt, sondern auch von öffentlichen Würdenträgern und Politikern ein. Der Kongress ist über die ReferentInnen hinaus einem wissenschaftlichen Publikum ohne Tagungsgebühr zugänglich und umfasst auch zwei Abendveranstaltungen, die für eine breite Öffentlichkeit gedacht sind. Der Kongress „An End to Anti-Semitism!“ will zum einen das Thema Antisemitismus in seinen historischen, religiösen, philosophischen, ethischen, soziologischen, pädagogischen, politologischen, medienwissenschaftlichen, psychologischen und juristischen Dimensionen durchdringen und zum anderen Strategien entwickeln, die es erlauben Antisemitismus wirksam zu bekämpfen. Ein besonderer Fokus der Tagung wird dabei auch auf der Schoah und der nationalsozialistischen Judenhetze liegen, da diese weit über den deutschsprachigen Raum hinaus auch in neuen Formen des Antisemitismus wirksam bleibt.
