Description
Within the scope of the Year of Remembrance 1938/2018, Centropa will draw on a selection of over 80 Centropa interviews with Austro-Jewish Holocaust survivors as part of the educational project being carried out at Viennese schools. Didactic questions will be developed with Viennese teachers to enable the ongoing long-term use of these important eyewitness documents in lessons. In addition the students will discuss the pros and cons of the oral history method with the Centropa experts, which is intended to promote critical thinking among the adolescents.

Im Rahmen des Gedenkjahres 1938/2018 wird Centropa innerhalb des Vermittlungsprojekts für Wiener Schulen auf eine Auswahl von mehr als 80 Centropa-Interviews mit österreichisch-jüdischen Holocaust Überlebenden zurückgreifen. Gemeinsam mit Wiener LehrerInnen sollen didaktische Fragen erarbeitet werden, um einen nachhaltigen Einsatz dieser bedeutsamen Zeitzeugendokumente im Unterricht zu garantieren. Die SchülerInnen sollen zudem mit Experten von Centropa über die Vor- und Nachteile der Oral History-Methode diskutieren, wodurch das kritische Denken bei Jugendlichen gefördert werden soll.
