The annual cantoral concert at the Vienna City Temple has become tradition. Once a year, generally in the autumn, international cantors are invited to give the Viennese audience a greater insight into the art of the Chasanut (cantoral singing) – which was driven to virtual extinction during the Nazi period – in the setting of the Vienna City Temple, a location steeped in tradition. In the Year of Remembrance 2018 the world renowned Jewish star cantor Dudu Fischer will be invited to sing with Chief Cantor Schmuel Barzilai. With piano accompaniment, this concert is intended to give the Jewish and non-Jewish Viennese audience the opportunity to (re)familiarize themselves with the traditional prayers, old Jewish songs, religious tunes from the stetl and the timeless melodies of the prayers.

Das alljährliche Kantorenkonzert im Wiener Stadttempel ist bereits zur Tradition geworden. Einmal im Jahr, meist im Herbst, werden Kantoren aus dem Ausland eingeladen, um im traditionsreichen Wiener Stadttempel dem Wiener Publikum die Kunst der Chasanut (Kantonaler Gesang), die in Österreich während des Nationalsozialismus so gut wie ausgerottet wurde, näherzubringen. Im Gedenkjahr 2018 soll der weltweit bekannte, jüdische Kantorenstar Dudu Fisher eingeladen werden, um gemeinsam mit Oberkantor Schmuel Barzilai zu singen. Mit Klavierbegleitung soll dieses Konzert sowohl dem jüdischen als auch dem nicht jüdischen Publikum die Möglichkeit geben, die traditionellen Gebete, alte jüdische Lieder, religiöse Weisen aus dem Stetl sowie zeitlose Melodien der Gebete kennenzulernen oder wieder zu hören.
