For many years, Mr. Gideon Eckhaus, together with several volunteers, such as the late Leo Luster, managed the central office for Jews living in Israel and originating from Austria in Tel Aviv, who managed to survive Nazi persecution, with great personal dedication. At present the association still has around 400 members. At the end of 2017, the office of the association was closed, the documents were digitalized and all documents including the equipment were stored in the club rooms. In 2018 Mr. Eckhaus had to hand over his activities to Mrs. Kika Goren. She is the new president of the club and the new contact person for the National Fund. Mr. Eckhaus is still interested in the activities of the club and now follows its work from the second row. In order to be able to carry out all the programmes, activities and aid for Austrian Holocaust survivors in Israel that Austria wishes to provide, the Association needs annual financial support from the National Fund. This includes the administration, management and expenditure for all activities, projects, running costs and the maintenance of the organization of the "Central Committee" of Jews from Austria in Israel.

Über viele Jahre hinweg leitete Herr Gideon Eckhaus gemeinsam mit mehreren Freiwilligen, wie dem verstorbenen Leo Luster, unter sehr großem persönlichen Einsatz die zentrale Stelle für die in Israel lebenden und aus Österreich stammenden Jüdinnen und Juden in Tel Aviv, die es geschafft haben, die nationalsozialistische Verfolgung zu überleben. Derzeit hat der Verein nach wie vor etwa bis zu 400 Mitglieder. Mit Ende des Jahres 2017 wurde das Büro des Vereins aufgelöst, die Dokumente digitalisiert und alle Unterlagen samt der Einrichtung in den Clubräumen untergebracht. 2018 musste Herr Eckhaus seine Tätigkeit an Frau Kika Goren übergeben. Sie ist die neue Präsidentin des Vereins und die neue Ansprechpartnerin des Nationalfonds. Herr Eckhaus ist nach wie vor am Geschehen des Vereins interessiert und verfolgt sein Werk nun aus der zweiten Reihe. Um alle von Österreich gewünschten Programme, Aktivitäten und Hilfeleistungen für österreichische Holocaustüberlebende in Israel durchführen zu können, benötigt der Verein jährliche finanzielle Unterstützung durch den Nationalfonds. Dazu gehören die Administration, die Verwaltung und der Aufwand für alle Aktivitäten, Projekte, laufende Kosten und die Erhaltung der Organisation des „Central Committee“ der Jüdinnen und Juden aus Österreich in Israel.
