The poet Erich Fried was born in Alsergrund where he spent his youth. In 1938, Erich Fried had to flee to London. In 1968, he became one of the figureheads of the youth movement and he died in November 1988. 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of the poet’s death. In 2008, the Museum planned a special exhibition on Eric Fried.

Der Dichter, Erich ist am Alsergrund geboren und hat dort auch seine Jugendjahre verlebt. Im Jahr 1938 musste Erich Fried nach London fliehen. 1968 wurde er zu einer der Galionsfiguren der Jugendbewegung und sein Todestag war im November 1988. 2008 jährt sich zum 20. Mal der Todestag des Poeten. Das Bezirksmuseum plant 2008 eine Sonderschau zu Erich Fried.
