Since 1993, the Austrian Contemporary History Day has been a central conference for Austrian contemporary historians, which takes up new topics and methods and is of central importance for internal and transdisciplinary networking within Austria and beyond. In 2020, the Institute of Contemporary History at the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck will be responsible for the organization and implementation of the conference for the third time. The programme consists of plenary sessions and a panel part with at least three parallel tracks. In addition, a region-specific supporting programme will be offered. As on all Contemporary History Days, topics that are central to the National Fund's remit will be particularly present - reflecting their general great importance for Austrian contemporary history research.

Der Österreichische Zeitgeschichtetag ist seit 1993 eine zentrale Konferenz der österreichischen ZeithistorikerInnen, die neue Themen und Methoden aufgreift und von zentraler Bedeutung für die fachinterne wie transdisziplinäre Vernetzung innerhalb Österreichs wie auch darüber hinaus ist. 2020 ist das Institut für Zeitgeschichte der Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck bereits zum dritten Mal für die Organisation und Durchführung der Konferenz zuständig. Das Programm besteht aus Plenarveranstaltungen und einem Panel-Teil mit mindestens drei parallelen Schienen. Daneben wird ein regional-spezifisches Rahmenprogramm angeboten. Wie auf allen Zeitgeschichtetagen werden auch dieses Mal Themen, die zentral in das Aufgabengebiet des Nationalfonds fallen, in besonderem Maße präsent sein – deren allgemeine große Bedeutung für die österreichische Zeitgeschichtsforschung widerspiegelnd.
