Description
The Roma 2000 website aims to bring information about the history and culture of the Roma ethnic group closer to a broad public. It is an information platform and aims to combat prejudices among the majority population towards the Roma ethnic group and promote mutual understanding between Roma and "Gadsche" (non-Roma). There are now new findings and a new research status on many topics. In addition, there is a new "wording": the terminology used 20 years ago must be critically questioned and corrected if necessary. Among other things, the database also seeks to break down stereotypes and counteract anti-gypsyism.

Die Website Roma 2000 verfolgt das Ziel, Informationen über Geschichte und Kultur der Volksgruppe der Roma einem breiten Publikum näherzubringen. Sie ist eine Informationsplattform und soll Vorurteile in der Mehrheitsbevölkerung gegenüber der Volksgruppe der Roma abbauen und das gegenseitige Verständnis zwischen Roma und „Gadsche“ (Nicht-Roma) fördern. Es gibt mittlerweile neue Erkenntnisse und einen neuen Forschungsstand zu vielen Themen. Darüber hinaus gibt es ein neues „Wording“: Die Begrifflichkeiten, die vor 20 Jahren verwendet wurden, müssen dementsprechend kritisch hinterfragt und wenn nötig berichtigt werden. Die Datenbank dient unter anderem auch dem Abbau von Stereotypen und soll Antiziganismus entgegenwirken.
