Description
In 2021 and 2022, the Exil Association and the ensemble of the roma.klang.theater.exil will devote themselves to an extensive cultural project reckoning with the history of the persecution of the Roma and Sinti. Within the framework of the project "they had taken us far away", the Exil Association is commissioning three musicians and composers from the Roma people (Koloman Polak, Adrian Gaspar and Samuel Mago) to set to music poems by Roma poets such as Ceija Stojka, Ilija Jovanovic, Mircea Lacatus and Samuel Mago. The results of their work will be presented in several events in Vienna in summer and autumn 2022.

Der Verein Exil und das Ensemble des roma.klang.theater.exil widmen sich 2021 und 2022 einem umfangreichen Kulturprojekt zur Aufarbeitung der Verfolgungsgeschichte der Roma und Sinti. Der Verein Exil vergibt im Rahmen des Projekts „sie hatten uns weit weg gebracht“ an drei Musiker und Komponisten aus dem Volk der Roma (Koloman Polak, Adrian Gaspar und Samuel Mago) Kompositionsaufträge zur Vertonung von Gedichten von RomadichterInnen wie Ceija Stojka, Ilija Jovanovic, Mircea Lacatus und Samuel Mago. Die Ergebnisse ihrer Arbeit sollen in mehreren Veranstaltungen in Wien im Sommer und im Herbst 2022 präsentiert werden.
