At a time when the language of terror and violence makes normal dialogue largely impossible, JFW24 aims to encourage reflection and discussion through its selection of films and its educational and commemorative work. The project aims to sensitise pupils through school screenings of Shoa films such as “The Invisibles - We Want to Live” or “Delegation”, which deals directly with the topic of remembrance among pupils. These screenings are complemented by educational workshops that offer pupils the opportunity to engage intensively with the films, ask questions and share their thoughts in order to develop a deeper understanding of the Shoah and its impact. The JFW is planning 8 school screenings in 2024. The film screenings, including workshops, serve to prevent discrimination, antisemitism and disregard for the Shoah, its victims and relatives. These school screenings will include introductions to the respective film topic by experts and discussion rounds in order to involve pupils in the dialogue and promote their understanding of Jewish culture and the suffering during the Nazi era.

In einer Zeit, in der die Sprache von Terror und Gewalt einen normalen Dialog weitgehend verunmöglicht, möchte das JFW24 durch seine Filmauswahl sowie durch Bildungs- und Gedenkarbeit zur Reflexion und zum Gespräch anregen. Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, Schülerinnen und Schüler durch Schulvorführungen von Shoa-Filmen wie "Die Unsichtbaren – Wir wollen leben" oder "Delegation", der sich direkt mit dem Thema Erinnern unter Schüler:innen auseinandersetzt, zu sensibilisieren. Diese Vorführungen werden durch pädagogische Workshops ergänzt, die den Schülerinnen und Schülern die Möglichkeit bieten, sich intensiv mit den Filmen auseinanderzusetzen, Fragen zu stellen und ihre Gedanken zu teilen, um ein tieferes Verständnis für die Shoa und ihre Auswirkungen zu entwickeln. 2024 plant das JFW 8 Schulvorstellungen. Die Filmvorführungen inklusive Workshops dienen der Prävention von Diskriminierung, Antisemitismus und der Missachtung der Shoah, ihrer Opfer und Angehörigen. Diese Schulvorstellungen erfolgen mit Einführungen in das jeweilige Filmthema durch Expert:innen und Diskussionsrunden, um Schüler:innen in den Dialog einzubeziehen und ihr Verständnis für die jüdische Kultur, aber auch die Leiden während der NS-Zeit zu fördern.
