Edith Tudor-Hart, née Suschitzky, was the daughter of Adele Bauer and the socialist bookseller Wilhelm Suschitzky, who ran a bookshop with his brother Philipp at Favoritenstraße 57 in Vienna. Her brother was the cameraman Wolfgang Suschitzky. This extensive retrospective exhibition and accompanying book publication at the Fotohof in Salzburg will now make largely unpublished material available to the public. Several thousand negatives and hundreds of vintage prints recently handed over to the Fotohof archive by her heirs enable a re-evaluation and re-contextualisation of her photographic work and are thus to be incorporated into the art discourse.

Edith Tudor-Hart, geborene Suschitzky war die Tochter der Adele Bauer und des sozialistischen Buchhändlers Wilhelm Suschitzky, der mit seinem Bruder Philipp einen Buchladen in der Wiener Favoritenstraße 57 betrieb. Ihr Bruder war der Kameramann Wolfgang Suschitzky. Mittels umfangreicher retrospektiver Ausstellung und zugehöriger Buchpublikation am Fotohof in Salzburg wird der Öffentlichkeit nun bisher größtenteils unveröffentlichtes Material zugänglich gemacht. Mehrere tausend Negative und hunderte erst kürzlich durch die Erben an das Fotohof-Archiv übergebene Vintage Prints ermöglichen eine Re-Evaluierung und Neukontextualisierung ihres fotokünstlerischen Schaffens und sollen so in den Kunstdiskurs eingearbeitet werden.
