„Steine der Erinnerung“ im Gedenken an die vom NS-Regime verfolgten Bürger*innen der Marktgemeinde Persenbeug-Gottsdorf

 

The history of the citizens of the municipality of Persenbeug-Gottsdorf who were persecuted by the Nazi regime for “racial”, religious or political reasons, due to psychological or physical impairments etc. has not yet been researched. Little is known about their lives before the so-called Anschluss, their contributions to the social life of the village and their marginalisation, dispossession, expulsion, deportation and extermination after 1938. There is no local memorial. The aim of the project is to bring the names and fates of these people back into local and regional memory, to approach their biographies with local schoolchildren and to preserve a permanent memorial to them in the form of “Stones of Remembrance”. Project goals: - Installation of “Stones of Remembrance” for citizens of Persenbeug-Gottsdorf who were persecuted and murdered by the Nazi regime - Making the research accessible through folders (print and free download) - A workshop with pupils from MS Persenbeug will be organised as part of the stone-setting process - Ceremonial stone laying in late autumn 2024

Die Geschichte der Bürger:innen der Gemeinde Persenbeug-Gottsdorf, die vom NS-Regime aus "rassischen", religiösen, politischen Gründen, durch psychische oder physische Beeinträchtigungen etc. verfolgt worden sind, ist bislang nicht erforscht. Über ihr Leben vor dem so genannten Anschluss, ihre Beiträge zum gesellschaftlichen Leben des Orts sowie über ihre Marginalisierung, Enteignung, Vertreibung, Deportation und Vernichtung nach 1938 ist nur wenig bekannt. Vor Ort gibt es kein Erinnerungszeichen. Ziel des Projektes ist es, die Namen und Schicksale dieser Menschen wieder in die lokale und regionale Erinnerung zu bringen, sich mit Schüler:innen des Orts ihren Biografien anzunähern und ihnen ein dauerhaftes Gedenken in Form von "Steinen der Erinnerung" zu bewahren. Projektziele: - Errichtung von "Steinen der Erinnerung" für vom NS-Regime verfolgte und ermordete Bürger:innen aus Persenbeug-Gottsdorf - Zugänglichmachung der Recherchen durch Folder (Print und kostenloser Download) - Im Zuge der Steinsetzung wird ein Workshop mit Schüler:innen der MS Persenbeug organisiert - Feierliche Steinsetzung im Spätherbst 2024
