Description
8 May 2024 marks the 79th anniversary of the unconditional surrender of the German Wehrmacht and the end of the Second World War in Europe. On this day, the Mauthausen Committee Austria (MKÖ) is organising the Festival of Joy for the twelfth time in memory of the victims and the joy of liberation from the Nazi reign of terror. The Festival of Joy will take place from 7.30 pm on Heldenplatz in Vienna, will be broadcast live by ORF III and streamed worldwide on the Mauthausen Committee Austria's online channels to enable global participation in the Festival of Joy.

Am 8. Mai 2024 jähren sich zum 79. Mal die bedingungslose Kapitulation der Deutschen Wehrmacht und das Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges in Europa. An diesem Tag veranstaltet das Mauthausen Komitee Österreich (MKÖ) bereits zum zwölften Mal im Gedenken an die Opfer und die Freude über die Befreiung von der NS-Terrorherrschaft das Fest der Freude. Das Fest der Freude findet ab 19.30 Uhr am Wiener Heldenplatz statt, wird von ORF III live übertragen und auf den Online-Kanälen des MKÖ weltweit gestreamt, damit eine globale Teilnahme am Fest der Freude ermöglichen wird.
