Description
Active remembrance and commemoration culture is at the centre of the work of the Tyrolean Association. The association has the task of combating the effects and consequences of fascism and National Socialism and living the values of social democracy and socialism. The regional board therefore decides on an extensive work programme every year. In addition to the wide range of events, the annual commemoration of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Mauthausen and its satellite camps by the US armed forces and the commemoration of the victims are also regularly attended. Before the official commemoration ceremony at 11am, there will be a small commemoration ceremony organised by the Federal Government at 10am at the memorial plaque for Richard Bernaschek at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial.

Im Zentrum der Arbeit des Landesverbandes Tirol steht die aktive Erinnerungs- und Gedenkkultur. Der Verband hat die Aufgabe, die Auswirkungen und Folgen des Faschismus und Nationalsozialismus zu bekämpfen und die Werte der Sozialdemokratie und des Sozialismus zu leben. Der Landesvorstand beschließt daher jedes Jahr ein umfangreiches Arbeitsprogramm. Neben den vielseitigen Veranstaltungen wird auch immer wieder an der jährlich stattfindenden Gedenkfeier zur Erinnerung an die Befreiung des NS-Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen und seiner Außenlager durch die US-Streitkräfte sowie zum Gedenken an die Opfer teilgenommen. Vor der offiziellen Gedenkfeier um 11 Uhr wird noch um 10 Uhr an einer kleinen Gedenkfeier des Bundes bei der Gedenktafel für Richard Bernaschek in der KZ-Gedenkstätte Mauthausen teilgenommen.
