The 11th Central Seminar deals with the persecution of the Roma and Sinti under the Nazis and also serves the concepts of the teaching materials developed under the direction of the historian Gerhard Baumgartner (Vienna), commissioned by the Task Force on International Cooperation of Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research, the Memorial de la Shoah (Paris) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Culture. In view of the fact that the persecution of the Austrian Roma and Sinti and other groups and the continued marginalization after 1945 of this recognized minority in Austria is not sufficiently covered by text books and with regard to the increased rejection of the Roma in many countries following the “Wende” in Southern and Eastern Europe, _erinnern.at_ dedicated the 11th Central Seminar almost exclusively to this subject.

Das 11. Zentrale Seminar hat die Verfolgung der Roma und Sinti während des Nationalsozialismus zum Inhalt und dient auch der Vorstellung von im Auftrag der Task Force on International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research sowie des Memorial de la Shoah (Paris) und des BM:UKK unter der Leitung des Historikers Gerhard Baumgartner (Wien) entwickeltem Unterrichtsmaterials. In Anbetracht der in den Schulbüchern und im Schulunterricht ungenügend verankerten Darstellung der Verfolgung der österreichischen Roma und Sinti sowie anderer Gruppen und der nach 1945 fortgesetzten Marginalisierung dieser in Österreich anerkannten Minderheit sowie in Hinsicht auf die nach der Wende in Ost- und Südosteuropa stärker gewordene Ablehnung der Roma in vielen Ländern Europas widmet sich _erinnern.at_ das 11. Zentrale Seminar fast ausschließlich diesem Thema.
